KayCyy pluto, a Kenyan-born rapper based in the United States, is still stacking up on popularity after popstar Nicki Minaj praised him for his work in an album he was featured in.
Nicki took to Instagram after listening to Fivio Foreign’s B.I.B.L.E album, in which KayCyy is featured in two songs.
“This Fivio Foreign album rlly hitting the matha**n spot. Soooo SOLID. Sonically authenitc & well thought out,” wrote Nicki on her Insta-stories.
“Kaycyy is lit on both of his songs #Hello #OnGod.”
The Recording Academy, Grammys, recently honored KayCyy for being a part of the production that saw Kanye West, Ye, win Best melodic rap performance with the song “Hurricane,” which also featured The Weeknd and Lil Baby.
He rose to international prominence in 2018 after being sampled on Kanye West’s album, ‘Yikes,’ when he became the first Kenyan to chart on the US Billboard Top 5 Charts.
He has also been nominated for the 2022 XXL Freshman 10th Spot for a chance to appear on the cover of the New York hip hop magazine.
The coveted tenth spot issue features ten musicians regarded as the year’s top artists to watch. XXL’s Freshmen list has a history of highlighting unknown/underground rappers as well as artists on the rise.
