FIDA Announces 400 Vacancies Amid Elections and Campaign season.

FIDA-Kenya, an organisation for women rights, has announced vacancies for about 400 individuals to serve as Sexual and Gender-Based Violence (SGBV) monitors as the election campaign season heats up.

In an advertisement, FIDA-Kenya, which is derived from the Spanish Federation International De Abogadas (FIDA), indicated that it was planning to observe violence against women in the upcoming General Election slated for August 9, 2022.

The application exercise is open till Friday, February 25, and the successful candidates will be eligible for remuneration of Ksh35,000 per month.

The applicants will be expected to attend mandatory training provided by FIDA-Kenya as well as report any violence against women across the 47 counties.

Other duties include; attending campaign forums, furnish FIDA-Kenya with reports on status of human rights concerning compliance and violations as well as assisting and accompanying FIDA-Kenya team on visits to various counties.

All applicants are expected to posses a post-secondary school certificate such as a Diploma and should have experience in social sciences or paralegal studies.

They are also expected to have a minimum of one year experience in human rights work, be a resident in the county they apply in and understand its local language as well as English and Swahili.

Applicants should send their application letter with ‘SGBV in elections monitor’ as the title accompanied with an updated curriculum vitae (CV) to elections@fidakenya.org.

The CV should contain your name, telephone contact, three referees and should indicate the county as well as the sub-county of choice.

The contract for successful candidates lasts 6 months.
