A total of 19 students of Thur Gem Secondary School in Kisumu are still admitted at Jaramogi Oginga Odinga Teaching and Referral hospital receiving care following a road accident on Thursday evening.
Jaramogi Oginga Odinga Teaching and Referral hospital CEO Dr. George Rae says 25 of them who were out of danger were discharged last night.
He however says the 19 who are still admitted needed attention as a result of the injuries they sustained, adding that five of them were seriously injured.
The school bus overturned around Mamboleo area along Kisumu–Kakamega road after the brakes of the bus failed, causing the vehicle to overturn.
The students, who were in the company of their teachers, were returning to school from an educational trip in Kakamega.
The students involved in the accident are were in Form Three and Form Four. They were in the company of four teachers.
