Businessman Jimi Wanjigi has been presented at the Milimani Law Courts after spending the night at Kamukunji Police Station in Nairobi.

Wanjigi, who was arrested on Tuesday, is facing charges of conspiracy to commit a felony and forgery of a title deed.

The Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) recommended the prosecution of  Wanjigi and his wife Irene Nzisa for allegedly obtaining money by false pretence and conspiracy to defraud involving a Ksh.1.2 billion piece of land in Nairobi.

Detectives from the land fraud unit of the DCI forwarded the inquiry file on the 10th of December 2021, to the DPP with recommendations that Wanjigi and Nzisa among others be charged with obtaining Ksh.56 million from Kenroid Limited, by falsely pretending they were in a position to sell the company the piece of land along General Mathenge road in Westlands.

The DCI had launched investigations to establish the real owners of the land, which is claimed by three parties.
