
The Kenya Meteorological Department has warned of more rainfall in most parts of the country between Tuesday and Monday, January 24, 2022.
The weatherman says that very heavy rains are expected to persist in the highlands west of the Rift Valley, the Central and South Rift Valley, the Lake Victoria basin as well as sections of Central Kenya and Nairobi.
Region-wise, Kisii, Nyamira, Trans-Nzoia, Uasin-Gishu, Elgeyo-Marakwet, Nandi, Kericho, Bomet, Kakamega, Vihiga, Bungoma, West-Pokot, Siaya, Kisumu, Homa Bay, Busia, Migori, Baringo, Nakuru, Narok and Laikipia Counties will experience afternoon showers and thunderstorms on Tuesday and Wednesday with night showers over few places.
At the same time, morning rains as well as afternoon and night showers and thunderstorms are expected in Turkana and Samburu Counties early in the week.
Residents of Nairobi, Nyandarua, Nyeri, Kirinyaga, Murang’a, Kiambu, Meru, Embu and Tharaka-Nithi counties have meanwhile been urged to brace for cloudy mornings with occasional rains as well as afternoon showers early in the week.
In Marsabit, Mandera, Wajir, Garissa and Isiolo Counties, morning rains as well as afternoon and night showers are expected over a few places early in the week.
Machakos, Kitui, Makueni, Kajiado and Taita-Taveta Counties will experience morning rains and afternoon and night showers early into the week, the Coast region (Mombasa, Tana-River, Kilifi, Lamu and Kwale Counties) have a likelihood of occasional afternoon and night showers occurring over few places.
The weatherman has further warned of a likelihood of isolated storms in places where very heavy rainfall is expected.
