US rapper Lil Baby, born Dominique Armani Jones, has called out a celebrity jeweller for selling him a fake watch instead of its original.
The musician exposed New York City jeweller Rafaello and Co. after selling him a fake Patek Phillippe watch for KSh 44 million. Baby shared a short video on his Instagram showing off four blinged-out rings and a nice watch with diamonds all over it. It was not clear if the watch was the said fake one, but what was clear is that the FOUR rings on his fingers were given to him as compensation from the jeweller.
In his caption, Baby blasted the company, saying they know better than to sell him, of all people, a fake watch. He urged them to stand by their name and stop claiming it was a mistake, warning them not to “play with” him.
The rapper’s warning came after Rafaello and Co. went on their social media to explain themselves, admitting to selling Baby the watch but also calling it a mistake. They said they gave him the four rings for free and returned his money, adding they did not do their homework on the piece and take full responsibility. According to Page Six, Baby learnt about the watch being fake after a jewellery verification page on Instagram exposed it.
