Kenya Safari Rally winner Sebastien Ogier has donated KSh 2.5 million to two Kenyan charities, weeks after the conclusion of the championships.

Ogier released a statement on Tuesday, July 13, confirming he had donated the funds to two charities, namely, Nakuru Children’s Project and Ol Pejeta Conservancy which would receive half of the KSh 2.5m (€20,000) each.

The rally champion further admitted he fell in love with Kenya because of support he was shown by locals during the championships. “This wonderful country got a place in my heart,” he added. Co-founder of the Nakuru Children’s Project Zoe Kelland took to her Twitter account to express her gratitude to Ogier for the noble gesture, saying the donations would help realise some of the organisation’s ambitions.
