President Uhuru Kenyatta has revoked the appointment of Kembi Gituri to the Kemsa board.
He has instead appointed Mary Mwadime as the chairperson of the board.
In a Gazette notice dated April, the president said that Mwadime’s term in office will start on April 30 for a period of three years.
The revocation follows the Kemsa procurement scandal.
Last month, lawmakers raised concerns over Gitura’s appointment to the Communications Authority.
The committee chaired by Mvita MP Abdulswamad Nassir said the appointment of the former Murang’a senator was in bad taste considering the investigation into the Kemsa scandal was ongoing.
In the same notice, Health CS Mutahi Kagwe has appointed new members to the board who will serve for a period of three years, as from April 30, 2021.
They include Lawrence Wahome, Robert Nyarango, Terry Kiunge Ramadhani, and Linton Nyaga Kinyua.
The appointment of Timothy Mwololo Waema, Dorothy Atieno, Bibiana K. Njue, and Joel Onsare Gesuka has been revoked by the CS.
The new appointment comes amid a probe into the multi-million saga that is facing Kemsa over the irregularity in awarding the tenders.
