According to Akothee, she has also not been receiving the benefits some of Mombasa-based artists have been enjoying courtesy of the county government
In a Facebook post seen on Wednesday, March 31, the mother of five wondered why people have not been involving her yet she represents Mombasa and Kenya a whole as an artist.
‘How can I work hard and sweat here in Coast and not get anything out of it, I mean money that other artists have been enjoying. Is it that I am an international artist that is why my name is absent on the list of Kenyan musicians? Or you cannot just afford me. I want you to say where the problem is now so that we know where we stand when coronavirus ends.” Akothee wrote. The singer launched her attack but also made it clear that she cannot take peanut for shows. She wrapped up by wittingly asking the county officials if they have been ignoring her because they cannot get a hold of her just like they could not with Lupita Nyong’o
